The final Bega Rifle Club shoot for the 2000-01 championship and handicap championship year was held on Saturday, with the club championship going to Paul Lawler.
The shoot consisted of two 10 shot matches with a total possible of 200 for the day.
The fickle wind mainly from the north-east, proved to be the dominate contender.
Peter Chote of Bemboka was welcomed to the range and he had an excellent first attempt at long range target shooting under the guidance of Phil Donoghue.

On Saturday, April 7, Bega Rifle Club will be hosting the Far South District Rifle Association annual general meeting as well as the Champion of Champions Shoot to decide who will represent the district in Sydney for the State Champion.
The shoot will be conducted over 300, 500 and 600 yards ten shots per range.
The day’s activities will commence at 11am with the annual general meeting, then the shoot.
