THE weekend began for Group 16 on Friday night in Canberra with the Group 16 representative teams taking on the Canberra and District Junior Rugby League representative teams.
In the first game of the night, the Group 16 Under 18s took on the CDJRL Under 18s and in one of the best performances for many a year the Group 16 boys had a 16 all draw with the CDJRL team and the seniors also showed marked improvement.
Athough beaten by 50 points to 14 they stayed in the game right up till the last few minutes when the CDJRL seniors got away with the game.
With such good showings from both teams Group 16 has its best representation in the Monaro Division team for some time, the players listed below will take part in the Country Championships on Saturday, May 12, at Mittagong with the Under 18s game kicking off at 1.30 and the seniors at 3.00pm, both games will be against Southern Division.
